The European Taekwondo Union (ETU)

Is an organization representing athletes and national Taekwondo federations in Europe. It was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in the city of Athens, Greece. The ETU is one of the five continental organizations recognized by the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF), the governing body of Taekwondo worldwide.

ETU's mission is to promote and develop Taekwondo as a sport and martial art in Europe, and to encourage collaboration and exchange between its member federations. The organization organizes events and competitions at the continental level, such as the European Taekwondo Championship, which is held every two years and brings together the best athletes from all over Europe.

In addition, the ETU offers programs and activities to promote the development of Taekwondo at all levels, from grassroots sport to high performance. It also works to improve the quality of Taekwondo teaching in Europe, through the training and training of coaches and referees.

The ETU is a non-profit organization, financed mainly by the fees of its member federations and by external sponsors and collaborators. The organization is governed by an Executive Board, elected every four years by the delegates of the member federations at the ETU General Assembly.
